Litbuy review

No score out of ten. A list of what can actually go wrong, which parts of it you control, and a test you can run in an afternoon.

Our conflict, stated first. This site earns a commission if you register through our link. That is why there is no rating here — a score from somebody who is paid on signups is worth nothing, and you would be right to ignore it. What follows is the risk list instead.

What you are actually trusting

A shopping agent buys your item in China, holds it, and posts it to you. For a period measured in weeks they hold both your money and your goods. That is the trust, it is identical at every agent in this space, and none of them is a regulated escrow. Anybody who tells you an agent is “100% safe” is guessing or being paid to say it.

What there is, instead of a guarantee, is evidence: whether a service has run at volume, for how long, with a public warehouse and support people who answer. That is reasonable evidence and it is not nothing — it is simply not the same as a promise.

What can go wrong, and who controls it

RiskWhat it really isControl
The agent fails while holding your balanceThe one that would genuinely hurt. Every agent holds your money between the item payment and the freight payment; none of them is a regulated escrow. Keeping the balance small and the cycle short is the entire mitigation and it works with any agent.Yours
The seller sends the wrong itemCommon, and mostly solved by the process rather than by the agent — you see it in the QC photos while the item is still in China, and you raise it before shipping.Yours, if you look
The item is poor qualityA seller problem, not an agent problem. They bought the listing you pointed them at. Choosing sellers with a long QC history is the only real defence.Yours
The parcel is held or seizedOutside the agent's control and outside ours. It depends on your country, the declared contents and the line. No agent insures against it and they say so.Neither
Shipping costs more than expectedThe most common complaint and not a fault — it is quoted before you pay. Quoting a realistic parcel early removes it entirely.Yours
Support is slow when you need itThe thing you will only care about once, and the only axis where agents genuinely differ in a way you can test in advance.Testable

The test, in an afternoon

Five steps, none of which costs anything until the last one. It works on any agent, which is rather the point.

  1. Register. Free, an email address, no card.
  2. Put a realistic haul in the cart — three or four items, one of them bulky.
  3. Submit it as a parcel and read every shipping quote. Pay none of them.
  4. Ask support a specific pre-sales question in live chat and time the reply.
  5. Put one cheap item all the way through, start to finish, before you trust anyone with a haul.

Four rules that work with any agent

  1. Keep the balance small. Top up for the order in front of you.
  2. Keep the cycle short. Order, check the photos, ship. Items sitting in a warehouse for months are exposure with no benefit — and eventually a storage fee.
  3. Start small. One cheap item through the whole process teaches you more than any review, including this one.
  4. Pay in a way you can dispute. General practice for anything bought from abroad.

What no agent covers

The item being poor. The item not matching a brand. Your customs charge. A seizure. Your country's law. They say so in their terms and they mean it — and this site does not sell, make, import or stock anything either, so the same applies to everything listed here.

If you want the comparison version of this, it is Litbuy against Kakobuy. If you have decided and want the practical version, it is the first order checklist.

Questions

Is Litbuy a scam?

There is no evidence that it is, and it is one of the agents this community uses at volume. That is the honest limit of what anybody can tell you — it is a judgement about a company, not a fact. We are paid a commission on signups, which is exactly why this page lists risks instead of awarding a score.

Why is there no rating out of ten?

Because it would be worth nothing coming from us, and you would be right to ignore it. A list of what can go wrong and who controls each item is useful whoever wrote it.

Is it safe to leave money in the balance?

Leave as little as the next order needs. This is standard advice for every shopping agent and it is not an accusation against any one of them: an unspent balance is an unsecured loan to a company in another jurisdiction.

How does Litbuy compare to other agents?

On the things that matter — the freight quote into your country and how support behaves — the only reliable comparison is the one you run yourself, because both vary by destination and by month. There is a page here comparing it with Kakobuy that lays out the axes.

Why should I trust a site that earns commission?

Do not take it on faith. The disclosure is at the bottom of every page, the risks are listed above rather than hidden, and the test below works regardless of what we write. Read the agent's own terms, search the community for recent experiences, and keep your balance small — those three protect you whatever this site says.

If you decide to try it

One cheap item, all the way through. It is the only review that is actually about you.
